Who we plan for

One mountain range, very different trips

The Alps aren't one holiday — they're hundreds. The skill is matching the right resort, week and setup to the people actually going. Tell us who's coming and we'll do exactly that.

Trips that work for the whole group

Mixed abilities are the norm, not the exception — and getting them right is what we do best.

  • Resorts picked for your weakest skier, not your strongest
  • Ski schools that genuinely sort kids by ability
  • Weeks that dodge the European school-holiday crush

Big terrain that rewards strong skiing

Vertical, off-piste and connected lift networks — matched to the conditions and challenge you're after.

  • St. Anton, Verbier, Chamonix, Val Thorens and beyond
  • Snow-sure, high-altitude resorts for the weeks you can travel
  • Honest takes on where the terrain actually delivers

The right first mountain

Your first trip decides whether you ever come back. We make sure it's gentle, patient and confidence-building.

  • Wide, gentle pistes and easy lifts — no scary surprises
  • English-speaking ski schools built for nervous starters
  • Resorts like Trysil and Sölden that suit learners

The Alps without the Alps premium

Skiing Europe doesn't have to mean five-figure price tags. We know where the value hides.

  • Value resorts like Cervinia, Sölden and Trysil
  • Smarter weeks that cut 50–80% off peak pricing
  • Real all-in AUD numbers — no "from $X" tricks
What we get right

Three decisions that make or break an Alps trip

Whoever you're travelling with, the same three calls separate the great trips from the regrettable ones. They're exactly what your plan is built around.

01

The resort has to fit the group, not the brochure

A mountain that thrills the strongest skier can quietly ruin the trip for the youngest, newest or most nervous. We pick for everyone who's actually going.

02

The week matters as much as the resort

European school holidays push prices up 50–80% and turn lifts into queues. Aussies don't know to avoid them — and agents have no reason to mention it.

03

Ski-school quality is underrated

For kids and first-timers it's the single biggest factor in whether they come home wanting to ski again. Pricing varies 3× for similar quality — we know which is which.

What it actually costs

Alps trip budgets, in AUD

Per person, 7 nights, all-in — international flights from an Australian capital, accommodation, lift pass, ski hire, transfers, modest food and lessons. Real numbers, not "from $X" marketing.

AU$4,000–6,000
Best value
Cervinia, Sölden, Trysil. Smaller villages, simpler accommodation, mid-week, off-peak. The Alps without the Alps premium.
AU$6,000–9,500
Sweet spot
Méribel, St. Anton, Kitzbühel. The classic European ski trip — good ski schools, comfortable accommodation, real Alpine character.
AU$10,000+
Premium
Zermatt, Verbier, Courchevel. Milestone trips — premium ski-in/ski-out hotels, the Matterhorn or Mont Blanc on the doorstep.

I plan every trip the way I'd plan my own — the right mountain for your group, not the resort that pays the biggest commission.

Common questions

What people want to know first

How is this different from a regular travel agent?

Travel agents earn commission from the operators they book through, so the recommendation is shaped by margin — not by what's right for you. AlpineDesk earns nothing from any resort, hotel, airline or ski school. You pay us AU$100, we give you the plan, and you book wherever and however you choose.

What if our group is at very different skiing levels?

This is the most common Australian ski-trip scenario, and exactly what our planning is built for. We pick resorts where mixed-ability groups can split up easily during the day and reunite for lunch and dinner — and where the ski-school structure handles different levels well within the same week.

How long before the trip should we book the plan?

Six months out is ideal — full availability on accommodation and the best flight prices. Three months out still works for most resorts. Closer than that and you'll be limited to whatever's left.

What does the plan actually include?

Everything you need to book with confidence, in one document: a shortlist of destinations suited to your group (not just one), plus the snow data behind each — altitude, aspect and reliability for your dates. Then the detail: where to stay (specific accommodation for your budget and area), where to eat (restaurants, mountain huts and après worth your time), flight routing from your Australian city, transfer options, lift-pass and ski-hire guidance, ski-school comparisons, the best week to go, and our honest final recommendation. It's a flat AU$100 — currently 50% off at AU$50, and you book everything yourself.

What if we don't like the recommendation?

The first recommendation is free — no obligation to proceed. If you don't think it fits, tell us why and we'll send another. If you've paid for the full plan and change your mind before we deliver it, we'll refund in full.
