How we handle your information

AlpineDesk only collects what we need to plan your trip. We don't sell your data, we don't share it with marketers, and we don't track you across the web.

1. Who we are

AlpineDesk is operated by Justin Sams (ABN 17 996 577 511) as a sole trader in Australia. We are the controller of any personal information you provide through this site.

2. What we collect

The only information we collect is what you give us when you submit a brief through the form on this site. That includes:

Contact details — first name, last name, email address, and (optionally) city.
Trip details — group size and type, skiing ability, preferred travel dates, budget range, departure airport, regions or resorts of interest, priorities for your trip, and any notes you add.

If you become a paying customer, our payment processor (currently Stripe) collects the information needed to process your payment. We never see or store your card details.

We do not use cookies, analytics tools or any third-party tracking on this site.

3. How we use your information

We use your information for one purpose: to put together your ski-trip plan and communicate with you about it. That includes:

Producing your free destination recommendation.
Producing your full plan if you choose to proceed.
Following up by email.
Issuing receipts for any payment you make.

We do not use your information for marketing, profiling or any automated decision-making.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent your information to anyone. The only third parties who handle your data are the service providers we use to run AlpineDesk, and only to the extent strictly necessary:

Netlify — hosts this website and captures form submissions on our behalf. See their privacy policy.
Stripe — processes payments for the AU$100 plan. See their privacy policy.
Our email provider — used to send and receive correspondence with you.

We may disclose information if required to do so by Australian law.

5. Where your data is stored

Your brief is stored in our email account and in our planning notes. Some of our service providers are based overseas (for example, in the United States and the European Union). By submitting a brief, you accept that your information may be stored or processed outside Australia, subject to the protections those providers offer.

6. How long we keep it

We keep brief submissions and related correspondence for as long as is reasonably needed to deliver the service and for our business records. If you ask us to delete your information, we will do so — except where we are required by law to retain certain records (for example, tax records relating to a payment).

7. Your rights

You can ask us at any time to:

Confirm what information we hold about you.
Correct anything that's wrong or out of date.
Delete your information, subject to any legal retention requirements.

Just email us at contact@alpinedesk.com.au. We aim to respond within seven days.

8. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the information you share with us — including using reputable third-party providers, secure email, and TLS-encrypted forms. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we treat your information with the same care we'd expect for our own.

9. Children

AlpineDesk is intended for adults planning trips. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have, contact us and we'll delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the current version.
